Hearing Jesus’ Teaching With New Covenant Ears(Bullet Points)

-Let us address why belief is so important and why many seem to feel this to easy or not practical: not so easy to come to end of self and only believe/rest all in Christ(as receive him so walk in him-Col 2:6)

-Is God that good or maybe we still have to make payment or avoid the big sins, but we are sinners due to the first figurehead of humanity-In Romans 48 of 49 times sin is not a single action but a state of being. We are righteous by the much surer work of the last figure head of humanity-Christ(Rom 5)

-Definitions of Sin(missing the mark) and Grace(unmerited favor of God)

-Jesus’ Ministry to reveal the full extent of the law to point to himself/cross

-Rich Young Ruler-always some falling short can point to when under law

-Many preach mixture of grace and law: lose effects of both(vast standard of law to bring to Christ and the vast Grace to save to the uttermost-new wine in old skins-Matt 9:17)

John 8:35 The slave does not have a permanent place in the household; the son has a place there for ever.

Galatians 3:21 Tell me, you who desire to be subject to the law, will you not listen to the law? 22For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman and the other by a free woman.23One, the child of the slave, was born according to the flesh the other, the child of the free woman, was born through the promise(self effort seems expedient)

Bondservants have no real/certain relationship to God but sons(through the Son) have a indefensible/preeminent one. “Cast out this bondwoman and her son, for the son of this bond-woman shall not be heir with my son, with Isaac.”(Gal 4:30)

-Cast out this mentality of immature and unstable relationship with God based on a serving under law rather than based on the promise through Christ’s work, love, standing.

-Jews today still advise they were many to God at Mt Sinai, Paul’s revelation of being married to/seated with the risen Christ who fulfilled the law freely giving grace so the motivation changed/empowerment given.

-John 8:11 Gave gift of no condemnation then sin no more-we have reversed many times

-Rom 6:14 Sin loses power not when under law but grace

-the law is holy but has no power to make you holy-the mirror points out your flaws but you don’t clean you self with that mirror

-Let Christ do the cleaning-We are transformed by beholding Christ(2 Cor 3:18)

-Law=demand, Grace=Supply; Christ came not to condemn but to save(John 3:17), law came by Moses, grace/truth came by Christ(John 1:17)

-Need Spirit to understand grace(still righteous when fail): the Holy Spirit is the comforter(John 14:26) not the accuser

-Spirit convicts the world of sin because they do not Believe in Christ, of righteousness because you no longer see me, and judgment because the accuser is condemned(John 16:8-11) Christ did not come to kick us when we are down but is a Savior to save us from our shortcomings, as that is when to rely/believe on Christ(Rom 5)

-The Spirit testifies of Christ(John 15:26) and that we are his children(Romans 8:16)

-All those who came before me a thieves and robbers(John 10:8)-religious leaders who use law to disqualify them and keep others under and religious system of control

-We please God by believing on and being conscious of his son(obedience of faith(obedience of faith-Rom 1:5,Rom 16:26), not basing our relationship or standing with him on our actions. This is the only hope toward bringing a fruitful life

-Gal 3:3; Are you staring in the Spirit and ending with the flesh

-We are feeding the new man from the tree of life rather then the old man from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil

-The one time sin mentioned in Romans as an single action is when Paul was asked should we sin so grace can about-must have preach grace radically-many churches today don’t have to worry about begin asked this question

-John 8:39-Jews believe in their natural linage; Christ advised they did not do as Abraham. Gal 3:6-7; Abraham believed God as it was credited to him as righteousness and those who believed are descendants of Abraham

-Consciousness of Christ in us and filling us through his work, glory(judgments-justifies us by Christ) His love and desire to do so and not by way of our coercing him to in dwell us by our human and works and qualifications

-Gal 3:13-14; Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’—in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith

-Martin Luther advised had to preach grace everyday, least he forget

-Whoever is conscious that they are forgiven much, loves much. (Luke 7:37-50) The Pharisee felt was not in need of much forgives and did no act for Jesus unlike the woman

-Grace is the New Testament word of all that God has for us-we have nothing to prove

-Accuser of the Brethren-9 times word accuser used when Pharisees accused Jesus

-(Isa 54:17)No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is from me, says the Lord

– John 8:53-54; Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets also died. Who do you claim to be?’ Jesus answered, ‘If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, he of whom you say, “He is our God”

-Heb 1:1-4; Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets(progressive relation-complete in Christ) but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the worlds. He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s very being, and he sustains all things by his powerful word When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs

-Rom 5 conveys an overpayment by Christ as not done by a man but God’s son and a new relationship(same as his son) established with God not based on action

-illustration of people imparting sin to lamb and lamb innocence to them

-Heb 1:3 Temple priest did not sit as continually offered sacrifice for sin-Heb 4:14 Jesus our high priest-Heb 7:27 not daily sacrifice but once for all-Heb 10:10-14 made perfect once for all-Heb 1:4 The manifestations of God by angels at different times in the Old Testament, did not bring man and God into personal union, as the manifestation of God in human flesh does. God became a gainer through redemption(the cross)

-John 9:1-3  how can someone sin in the womb? Seems like all some are conscious of is sin(Heb:10:1-2). John did not included himself-states disciples asked. Compare Peter(focused his love for God-will never forsake you)/John(focused God’s love for him-rest on Jesus’ bosom). Christ was focused on the answer-Himself (power of sin not problem when under grace not law(Rom 6:14)

-John 9:33-34-Pharasses could see only sin, not the one from God. Psychology term projection-what see/concerned of in self-accuse/put on to others

-John 9:39-40  Jesus’ ministry of unveiling extend of law to unveil extend of Himself. Those who feel see fine become blind, and those who don’t can now see-Pharisee and the women washing Jesus’ feet from Luke, she understood what the law and grace were

-Rom 3:20 by law no one justified, law is knowledge of sin

-Paul show both Jew and Gentile to fall short. The law does not make them righteous but brings the consciousness of sin and the word here is singular. It makes us aware of defects of our very character and nature. Not just what we do but who we are. So the law has a purpose as it is no easy thing to being humans to this realization. But humans have hope for both acquittal and righteousness as God has initiated action and provided the means for redemption by his grace alone, by his Son alone.

Rom 3:21; Get the right gospel-where the righteousness of God is revealed, without law: Only this kind of righteousness is the requirement and Chris is the means to obtain what God has so freely provided.

-Rom 3:24; to justify-to obtain a favorable verdict, to declare righteous. A gift with no cause-unmerited favor

-Redemption: to purchase out of the market and remove from further sale, slaves release

-Rom 3:25; sin Passed over:bypassed in OT, now complete removal of in Christ

-Rom 3:26; Propitiation: Now able to justly show mercy righteously-Christ showing the real nature of God as this necessary act of propitiation was not impose on God from without but from within by his virtue

-John 10:1-8; those before Christ advised of another way-the law is the way

-No other way then Christ-the sheep gate was the only intended way in, to climb over the gate one must exert self imagination(I will do this instead) and self effort. John’s Gospel stated believe 68 times with no condition

-John10:16-other sheep to bring in(Gentiles) that hear my voice, as it transitions into Eph 2:13-18; those far off from God were brought near by Christ’s work

-Col 3:10-11; the new man, no matter background, but one in Christ

-2 Cor 5:17-21; a new creation for those in Christ, taking that mindset of being reconciled to God into the world is the ministry of reconciliation, is base on Christ work and some just good deed by human standards

-The further we see ourselves from God and his reconciliation, we will exert a ministry of condemnation to ourselves and others, but when aware of non imputation of sin, see God’s grace/favor and righteousness by saving us

-New creation; in reference to form/quality not exiting before, not time
-2 Cor 5:19  reconciled us-restored to God’s favor justly by Christ’s person/work. God’s true character or love was not changed by the cross, but it was the result/product of it

-5:20 The Greek expresses God was the reconciler in Christ, therefore let God reconcile you to Himself or let this have its designed effect.

-5:21-The heart of the Devine exchange, do we really believe this?
